Seating

3 / 5

VietJet Air is a low-cost carrier so one needs to adjust their expectations and remember the low price you paid. Straight away I noticed the tighter seat pitch when compared to Vietnam Airlines but I have experienced much worse. Black leather seats reclined between three and four inches - this is rare for a low-cost carrier. The seats sat quite low in the aircraft which meant my head was actually level with the window making it easy to look out. All too often I have to crouch to look out the window so this was a big plus! As to be expected there were no amenities, blankets or pillows available however these could easily be purchased on board.

Customer Service

3 / 5

The customer service was excellent. The crew spoke English and Vietnamese. VietJet Air state that all their pilots are non-Vietnamese and interestingly they use this as a selling point. Our pilots were from India and South Africa (judging by the accents) and they were brilliant. The pilots regularly came over the intercom to identifyt things we could see from out the window and to update us on the flights. Given there is no in-flight entertainment it was well received and very informative. We were constantly kept updated during the flight and forewarned about upcoming turbulence by the pilots. The Cabin crew were also efficient, friendly and without a doubt put safety first.

Catering

3 / 5

There was a range of hot meals, sandwiches and snacks available for purchase for a good price. Alcoholic beverages, water and hot drinks were also available for purchase. Check out the huge range of gifts, souvenirs and food choices the airline offers here http://tiny.cc/lonnly

Inflight Entertainment

3 / 5

No in flight entertainment available

Extra Information

Checking in can be a bit messy, well it was at Nha Trang anyway and to be fair most Vietnamese airports are pretty busy places. Signage and actual flight information don't always match. Getting to the airport at one hour before the flight is essential to allow time for "line changing".
